This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:

A copy of all documents on, about or mentioning former U.S. Senator Roman Lee Hruska, born 8/16/1904, died 4/25/1999. Please include records from indices to the Central Records System, ELSUR and any cross-referenced documents relevant to this request.

Proof of death is not required because his death was widely reported. See, for instance, Mr. Hruska's obituary in the New York Times: http://www.nytimes.com/1999/04/27/us/roman-l-hruska-dies-at-94-leading-senate-conservative.html ("Roman L. Hruska, who served 22 years as a conservative Republican senator from Nebraska, died on Sunday at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha.")

I request that you waive any processing fees because this FOIA request is in the public interest; it is being made in the process of newsgathering; and it is not being made for a commercial use. Responsive documents will be processed by a journalist at The Omaha World-Herald and posted for the general public free of charge on the public information website MuckRock.com.

If my request for a fee waiver is rejected, please inform me before fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

If my request is denied in whole or part, I ask that you justify all deletions by reference to specific exemptions of the act. I will also expect you to release all segregable portions of otherwise exempt material. I reserve the right to appeal your decision to withhold any information or to deny a waiver of fees.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.
