Sir or Madam

We did receive your FOIA request for a copy "The handbook or manual for the United States Air Force Academy's confidential informant program".

First I want to apologize for the delay in responding to your request. AFOSI does not have a handbook or manual for the United States Academy confidential informant program. With that being said we do have an AFOSI Manual that covers Confidential Informants and that manual is considered For Official Use Only and we previous processed this document before but it was heavily redacted in order to protect Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures. We would be more than happy to provide a copy of the said document we previously released but as I stated earlier it is heavily redacted. We await further word from you on this matter. If we do not hear from you within the next 10 days then we would consider this matter to be closed.

Also, the link below has a story associated with Inspector General Inquiry regarding AFOSI's activities associated with the United States Air Force Academy and or/or the use of cadets as confidential informants.

Hi Michael,

The copy of the redacted manual you describe works fine. You can send that.

Thanks,

Thanks for your quick response.

We'll try to get this accomplished and out to you shortly. If we are able to load the responsive document up to a system in which you could download them, would that work for you?

Hi Michael,

Yes, that works great.

Hi there again,

Do you have an idea of a timeframe for releasing this particular document (the redacted AFOSI Manual)?

No rush, just was curious what you meant by “shortly.”

Thanks again.
