Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

Any and all memos, files, records, and other materials describing, mentioning or relating to Gifford Pinchot (1865-1946), who was head of the United States Forest Service and Governor of the state of Pennsylvania.

I request to have the fees associated with this request waived. The materials desired are for academic research (I am a PhD). The individual I am requesting information on was a prominent historical figure and information about his activities are in the public interest. The information revealed from this request will be disseminated in scholarly journals and made freely available to other scholars.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
