FTC: The Weider Files

To Whom It May Concern:

This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request any and all files maintained, generated, authored, investigated,developed, received, or otherwise possessed by the Federal Trade Commission on Joseph "Joe" Weider, his brother Benjamin "Ben" Weider, and their businesses.

Joe Weider was born in Canada on November 29, 1919 and died of heart failure at 93 years old, at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California, on March 23rd 2013. Ben Weider was born on February 1, 1923 and died on October 17, 2008, both in Canada. This request is to span January 1st, 1940, through January 1st, 2013.

I am seeking all documents that pertain to the Weider brothers, either together or individually, but also documents that pertain the Weider line of dietary supplements, the Weider line of exercise equipment, and the Weider family of magazines (Muscle & Fitness, Flex, Men's Fitness, Shape, Muscle Builder, Your Physique, etc...), pamphlets (Gem Magazine, Monsieur, etc...) and mail order courses (i.e. " Be a Destructive Self-Defense Fighter in Just 12 Short Lessons" and "How to Develop a He-Man Personality").

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
