This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:

I would like copies of all complaints to the Federal Trade Commission regarding the following companies:

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Adrianne Jeffries

Hi Jonathan,

Thanks for your prompt response. Would reducing the request to complaints from the last year narrow it sufficiently?

Best,
Adrianne

Good afternoon Ms. Jeffries,

Thank you for your response. Even narrowing the search to the last year will yield tens of thousands of complaints, which will take a significant amount of time to process. In addition to the time delay associated with processing so many records, I suspect that, on your end, dealing with such volume will have diminishing returns. In order to achieve the best possible balance of speed in response, quantitative, and qualitative information, I'd like to suggest providing a screen shot of our database that will show the number of complaints received by FTC for each company. To complement that information, I can also provide a small sampling of the complaints that we have received against each company, so that you can get a sense of the content as well. Please let me know if this is an acceptable solution, and I will be happy to get these records to you as soon as possible.

Thank you,

Jonathan
