Crowdfund Request: Frank Sturgis (FBI)

Share Embed Help

Frank Sturgis was more than just a Watergate burglar - his 75,253 page FBI file is more than four times as long as the FBI file on Watergate and almost twice as long as the combined Watergate and Kennedy assassination FBI files. Most of these pages have never been released, and if they were released it was in a highly redacted form. The file covers his paramilitary activities in Cuba, his ties to assassins and assassination plots, accusations about involvement in the Kennedy assassination and meeting with Lee Harvey Oswald, his confirmed CIA employment, his involvement in the break-in of the Chilean embassy, and possibly much more.

Backed by Jeffrey Kaye, David Bixenspan, Glenn Siegler, Val Zampedro, and 5 others.

$201.00 raised out of $2,599.00.

From: Michael Best

To Whom It May Concern:

This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:

Records, previously released and unreleased, mentioning or relating to Frank Anthony Sturgis (December 9, 1924 – December 4, 1993), AKA Frank Angelo Fiorini, Fred Frank Fiorini, Attila Frank Sturgis, Edward Hamilton, Joseph D'Alberto, Frank Anthony Fiorini. His death has been widely reported. http://www.nytimes.com/1993/12/05/obituaries/frank-a-sturgis-is-dead-at-68-a-burglar-in-the-watergate-affair.html

Due to his connections to the intelligence community, his role in the Watergate burglary and conspiracy theories relating to him and the JFK assassination, I ask that fees be waived. The materials released will improve the public's understanding of government operations and investigations for high profile and historic cases. The requested documents will be made available to the general public through MuckRock and the non-profit Internet Archive, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes. The documents will also be freely provided to other journalists and researchers for additional analysis and reporting.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Michael Best
