Hello Mr. Ader,

We received your Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request (copy attached) for information pertaining to SOFWERX and have assigned it USSOCOM FOIA 2019-064. Please refer to this number should you have any questions concerning your request. It appears we inadvertently did not acknowledge your request when received.

Your request is being processed in accordance with procedural requirements promulgated in Department of Defense (DoD) Regulation 5400.07, which is available on the internet at: https://open.defense.gov/Portals/23/Documents/FOIA/FOIA_Resources/DoDM%205400.07.pdf?ver=2017-03-15-135646-847. The actual processing time normally depends upon its complexity, whether it involves sensitive records, voluminous records, extensive searches, consultation among DoD components or other agencies, and our administrative workload. We have, however, been working this request since it was received, date stamped, and logged into our database on November 27, 2018.

We are nearing completion of your request, but upon review of the original inquiry (attached) we are unable to determine what category (commercial, educational, non-commercial scientific, news media, or other requester) you fall under and what fees, if any, should be charged for the processing of your request.

Please advise.

Also, in the future, if you require any further information and decide to file a FOIA with this Command, please consider accessing our electronic FOIA request at: https://www.socom.mil/FOIA/Pages/E-FOIARequests.aspx. Completing all fields included on the FOIA E-Request Form will ensure all needed information is provided and allow for a more timely response.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Kind Regards,

Connie
