This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:
All comments submitted to the National Weather Service's online comment portal between August 23, 2017 and September 13, 2017 related to Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma. https://www.weather.gov/contact-message
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes. I am a reporter with ThinkProgress, a non-profit online publication covering politics and policy in Washington, DC.
Please waive all fees since the information could provide valuable insight into the decision-making and rationales behind various public policies and regulations that are currently being implemented. In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.
