To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
Please provide the "Processing Notes" for FOIA request number 1511373-000, which was submitted to your office on December 3, 2021, asking for copies of any records about the late Stephen Joshua Sondheim, the American composer. A response was received from your office on December 7, 2021 indicating that there were no responsive materials at all.
The term "processing notes" as commonly used in FOIA means the following:
"Remarks, comments, notes, explanations, etc. made by your personnel or contractors about the processing of the above referenced requests, the invocation of exemptions, and related matters. This is to include any analysts' notes made during the processing of the requests, any standard worksheets completed by the analysts, any justifications for exemption invocations or other supporting documentation provided, and any correspondence referencing the requests, including tasking orders, emails, memos, and coordinating documentation. However, any records previously released to me - the original requestor in the above referenced FOIA cases - in unredacted form may be excluded from this request."
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.
