Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

The Official Military Personnel File (OMPF) including all Fitness Report and Counseling forms (NAVPERS Form 1610/2), the most recent Cumulative Record of Training (NAVPERS Form 5300/16), the Background Summary (NAVPERS Form 1640/32), history of assignments (NAVPERS Form 1070/605) , military awards and citations, military education/training courses and Form DD-214, for ALBERT MELROSE CALLAND III (Born 30 July 1952).
Mr Calland has claimed publicly to have served in the United States Navy as a commissioned officer achieving the rank of Vice Admiral with 30+ years of experience.
Please redact any sensitive information protected in accordance with Executive Order 13526 or the Privacy Act of 1974.

Mr Albert Calland recently serves as executive vice president of CACI International Inc. from 2008 to present day which does extensive work for the U.S. Government involving information solutions and services in support of United States national security missions and capabilities. Mr Calland has used his Navy military experience and qualifications to obtain this senior business position. Previously Mr Calland served as Deputy Director for Strategic Operational Planning at the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC), a senior US govt position. His background experience and qualifications to speak on these issues are consequently a matter of public interest. Mr Calland is a public figure, considered an expert on US military capabilities including national security issues and counter-terrorism as reported by the mainstream news media.
I request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Your request pertaining to Albert M. Calland III has been received.

I also received a fax from you seeking the status of your FOIA request pertaining to Admiral Joseph Maguire. This request is still pending. All requests for Navy SEAL personnel records undergo extensive review before disclosure. The time needed to make a release can vary depending on workflow, however, it can take several months in some cases with respect to SEAL records. I regret that these requests cannot be completed more rapidly.
