To Whom It May Concern:

This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:

I am looking for a spreadsheet of first names of people who have applied for insurance using the National Flood Insurance Program. I would also like to know which hurricane/event caused them to apply. I do not mind if all other information is redacted (contact info, personal info, etc...). I am just looking for first name and the storm/event that caused them to apply. (For example: Eleanor King/Hurricane Ivan. Or just Eleanor/Hurricane Ivan, if redacting the last name would expedite the process on your end.) This is for the dates January 1, 2000 to June 20, 2015.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Curtis Raye

Good Morning Mr. Raye,

This concerns your Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (2015-FEFO-00487). Your request has been tasked to the appropriate agency component to begin a search for potentially responsive documents. In order to proceed with the search, further clarification is required. In your requests you are seeking a copy of first or last name of people who have applied for insurance using the National Flood Insurance Program. You also would like to know which hurricane/event caused them to apply between January 1, 2000 to June 20, 2015.

Please narrow the scope of your request by clarifying whether you are seeking information on individuals that have applied for a flood insurance policy and applied for claim reimbursement under a specific storm, or are you seeking information on individuals who have an existing policy that applied for claim reimbursement under a specific storm

Please provide the requested information by August 10, 2015. If we do not hear from you by August 10, 2015 we will assume that you are no longer interested in this FOIA request, and the case will be administratively closed. Please be advised that this action is not a denial of your request and will not preclude you from filing other requests in the future.
Thank you for your continued patience and we look forward to hearing from you.
