To Whom It May Concern:
This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:
A flat file (Excel or CSV) copy of the releasable portions of the FIMS database found in the Office of Legacy Management of the Department of Energy.
I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.
In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.
Dear Mr. Morisy,
This is in regard to your request for a flat file copy of the releasable portions of the FIMS database found in the Office of Legacy Management of the Department of Energy (DOE). The DOE is reviewing information from the FIMS database in response to an earlier request. The search for that information was completed on May 7, 2013. I am writing to seek your agreement that the timeframe for your request will be the same: records through May 7, 2013.
I would appreciate a reply at your earliest convenience. Please let me know if you have any questions or need additional information.
Joan Ogbazghi, Information Access Specialist FOIA Program, Office of Information Resources U.S. Department of Energy
Dear Mr. Morisy,
This is in response to your FOIA request to the Department of Energy (DOE) for a flat file copy of the releasable portions of the FIMS database found in the Office of Legacy Management of the DOE. In an e-mail message last September, I sought your agreement that we would provide you the responsive records processed for an earlier FOIA request for the same information. To date, I have not received a reply from you. Therefore, I am providing records through May 7, 2013, which were released in response to the earlier request.
The attached records are provided with certain information withheld under Exemption 4 of the FOIA. Exemption 4 protects "trade secrets and commercial or financial information obtained from a person and privileged or confidential."
Please contact me if you have any questions about the processing of the request or about this correspondence. If I do not hear from you by April 11, 2014, the request will be considered completed and no further action will be taken regarding it.
