This is an appeal of the Federal Bureau of Investigation's response to my June 29, 2020 request for "[a]ll records and files, regardless of physical form, including cross-referenced documents and ELSUR records, concerning or mentioning David Eugene Dees (July 9, 1957 – May 31, 2020), a conspiracy theorist, former Sesame Street illustrator, and political cartoonist."
On July 22, 2020, the FBI acknowledged and assigned this request FOIPA #1469610-000. Additionally, they stated that they "were unable to identify records responsive to [my] request."
I appeal the integrity of the FBI's search in this request. In particular, I specifically asked for a search outside of the CRS as well and it is unclear whether the FBI performed such a search.
Best,
Shreyas Gandlur
