Mr. Musgrave:

This message is regarding your August 23, 2012 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request for all documents relating to the U.S. Army's. Air Force's and the U.S. Marine Corps application to the Federal Aviation Administration for authorization to operate aerial drones, UAs, UAVs, and UASs in domestic airspace, including but not limited to: (a) All certificates or authorization, both active and expired, issued by the FAA for any type of drone, including public and private drones; (b) Any supporting documentation submitted as part of the application for said certificates/authorizations, including but not limited to reports, memos emails and contracts.

In light of the length of time that has elapsed and given the fact that we have no record of any recent correspondence with you concerning this activity, we believe it is possible you are no longer interested in pursuing this issue. Please contact me via telephone at 202-267-8098 or by e-mail at lizett.culley@yahoo.com<mailto:lizett.culley@yahoo.com> by no later than June 9, 2016, if you remain interested in continuing with this request. In order to assist you with your decision, please note that all Certificates of Waiver or Authorization (COA) applications granted after September 2012 are currently being processed for public release. Once completed, they will be posted to the UAS website located at http://www.faa.gov/uas/public_operations/foia_responses/.

Thank you.

From:

Mr. Musgrave,

Your FOIA request, 2014-002324, was assigned to the Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Integration Office (AFS-82), which is in the Flight Standards Service, because they are the office likely to have responsive records. This request will remain assigned to Flight Standards and, therefore, they will be responding to this FOIA request. The Air Traffic Organization (ATO) will not be answering FOIA 2014-002324.

Manager

From:

Hi Dean. I understand your stance back in May, don't know that I totally agree, but do remember the conversation. Reading this request, do you agree that they want COA records? . Shari

Hello -

To clarify, I seek the processing notes/documentation for the indicated FOIA requests. I assume the present request should be assigned to the office(s) that processed the relevant FOIA requests for which I seek said documentation.

I hope that helps!

Best,
Shawn

From:

Hi Shawn. Didn't mean for you to be involved with the internal discussions regarding your request, however here's what I'm debating. It appears that you have several different FOIA requests under this one email that you've requested an update for. I was responding to the information highlighted below. That has nothing to do with FOIA request 2014-2324. I could you please go through this email and make sure that we are understanding which request(s) you are needing a status request for. Thanks.
