Re: Freedom of Information Act Request No. EPA-HQ-2018-005849
Dear Mr. Howard:
This letter concerns the above-referenced Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request, received by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on March 27, 2018. In reviewing the record in FOIAonline before it is migrated to an updated system, the below letter was not sent to you as intended in April due to a system error. Since the date that you should have recieved this letter on, you have had communications regarding your request that have infromed you of the number of documents collected that are potentially responsive, and the likely timely for review of those documents. We anticipate sending the first release in July, and completion of review of all documents by January 1, 2019. Once you recieve your first production, we are hoping to discuss with you any potentially narrowing of the review of the remaining documents.
"Given the scope of the request, EPA anticipates thatthe response will require significant amount of EPA’s resources and time to search for, and appropriately examine the voluminous amount of records to complete this request to search for and collect the requested records from multiple EPA offices that are separate from the office processing the request.
Pursuant to 40 C.F.R. § 2.104(d), and extension of time required to respond to your request is necessary.  The new due date is May 10, ten working days from March 27, 2018 For an update on the status of your FOIA request, please call me at (202) 564-3166 or access FOIAonline.
If you would like to modify or narrow your request so that it may be processed sooner, please contact Larry Weinstock who can be reached at (202) 564-9226 or weinstock.larry@epa.gov." (mailto:weinstock.larry@epa.gov)
Thank you,
Jonathan Lubetsky
