A fix is required to perfect the request.
From: Matthew Hoppock
The agency dismissed the request without any lawful basis. The undersigned submitted this request in December, 2018 and followed up in January and March, 2019. In March, 2019 the agency sent a cryptic message stating the request "requires clarification" but did not say what in particular was unclear about the request. The message said to "contact our office" but didn't indicate who in particular to call or what their contact information was.
The undersigned has spoken with Mr. Schaaf and/or Ms. O'Hara several times since that request - about various FOIA requests pending before the agency. But the agency has never said in writing what is wrong with this FOIA request or what we need to perfect it. The agency should remand this matter to the EOIR to grant the request and produce the responsive records.
