Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
All files on Eartha Kitt (1927-2008), the famous singer, activist, and actress, whose death was widely reported by the media: https://www.nytimes.com/2008/12/26/arts/26kitt.html
An article published by The New York Times in 1975 proved the existence of a CIA dossier on Ms. Kitt after her White House performance in 1968 (https://www.nytimes.com/1975/01/03/archives/cia-in-68-gave-secret-service-a-report-containing-gossip-about.html). Due to the existence of this file, there is reason to believe that FBI files on Ms. Kitt exist as well.
I am a member of the media and request designation as such. I have been published in MuckRock News as well as through several other publications. I believe that this request is in the public interest.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
