This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:
Records relating to the Donald J. Trump Foundation, a New York-based private foundation founded by Donald Trump, President-elect of the United States. It has been embroiled in numerous legal and ethical controversies, including solicitation of donations without a license, delay in granting donations solicited for veterans organizations' benefit, using Foundation grants as political advertisements, grants to the National Museum of Catholic Art and Library, failure to make pledged 9/11 donations, using Trump Foundation money to settle Trump Organization legal disputes, accusations of bribery of Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, using Foundation grants for political purposes, renovating Pulitzer Fountain to enhance value of Trump-owned hotel, purchasing goods and services for personal or business benefit with foundation money, diverting business or personal income earned to the foundation as donations, granting money to charities that rented Trump Organization facilities, Trump taking personal credit for donations made using foundation money, and making grants to other private foundations without fulfilling IRS "expenditure responsibility" rules.
Donald Trump established the Donald J. Trump Foundation in 1988 as a private foundation. Private foundations are generally used to receive donations from "only one individual, family, or corporation." Its original purpose was to give away personal proceeds from the book Trump: The Art of the Deal. It has no separate office and is operated at Trump's business office in New York. The foundation has no paid staff. The board of directors consists of Trump as president, plus his three adult children and a Trump Organization employee. In 2015, a Trump Organization spokesperson told The New York Post that Trump himself makes all decisions regarding the granting of Trump Foundation money.
Please conduct a search of the Central Records System, including but not limited to the Electronic Surveillance (ELSUR) Indices, the Microphone Surveillance (MISUR) Indices, the Physical Surveillance (FISUR) Indices, and the Technical Surveillance (TESUR) Indices, for both main-file records and cross-reference records for all relevant names, individuals, agencies and companies including those named in the above paragraphs.
I am a member of the news media and request classification as such. I have previously written about the Bureau for AND Magazine, MuckRock and Glomar Disclosure. My articles have been widely read, with some reaching over 100,000 readers. As such, as I have a reasonable expectation of publication and my editorial and writing skills are well established.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Estimated Dates of Completion
Requests are processed in the order in which they are received through our multi-track processing system, and the FBI receives a voluminous amount of requests on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis. Requests are divided into two primary tracks--simple (under 50 pages of potentially responsive documents) and complex (over 50 pages of potentially responsive documents). Our complex requests are further divided into medium, large, and extra-large sub-tracks. Simple track requests typically require the least amount of time to process.
Currently, simple track cases average approximately 181 days from the date of receipt for processing. Requests in the medium processing track are currently averaging 232 days from the date of receipt for processing, those in the large processing track are currently averaging approximately 659 days, and those in the extra-large track are averaging 998 days.
