This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:

All records mentioning Don Dailey. In the case where you have multiple people in your system with this name, provide records for all people with this name where they were born in 1956. Please do not reject this request for not having a specific birth date, as it is unknown, however, you can include all persons who meet the discription of having the name Don Dailey (or Donald or other such variant).

Dailey was an American longtime researcher in computer chess and a game programmer. Along with collaborator Larry Kaufman, he was the author of the chess engine Komodo. Dailey started chess programming in the 1980s, and was the author and co-author of multiple commercial as well as academic chess programs.

Dailey died November 22, 2013. Being a public figure, his death was well published and is now common knowledge. Thus, proof o death is not required.

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
