Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
Any and all spreadsheets, lists, databases, or other record reflecting all subpoenas issued by the Justice Department pursuant to 28 CFR 50.10 (Policy regarding obtaining information from, or records of, members of the news media) as far back as such spreadsheets are maintained. If no such documentation exists, I request copies of all subpoenas issued pursuant to the above policy.
Per the policy (available online here: https://www.law.cornell.edu/cfr/text/28/50.10), both the Director of the Office of Public Affairs and to the Director of the Criminal Division's Office of Enforcement Operations receive copies of each such subpoena within 10 business days of authorization.
As a professional reporter who has covered the Justice Department extensively, I assert that I am appropriately categorized as a media requester for the purpose of fees. Given the intense public interest in this topic, I further ask that any and all fees be waived. In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter.
I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.
