Good morning Ms. Amarel,

I am the new analyst assigned to process your request. Our office is still functioning and although moving onto the telework system has slowed things down, as an analyst, I still prioritize all requests assigned to me, including yours. I am diligently working to get you a response as soon as possible. We do have a layered review process to ensure that anything released is appropriately processed to requesters. This may affect how soon I can get a response to you but we are still working hard to serve you and other requesters. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns. Hope you're holding up well in this crisis. We appreciate your patience.

Good afternoon Taylor Amarel,

I am working diligently on your request. However, at DOE we do reach out to Program Offices and conduct a formal search through our Information office, which usually results in a broad search hit which we then review for responsiveness and apply FOIA exemptions where appropriate. After which DOE conducts a layered review process to confirm that the exemptions are appropriately applied and so that the documents for release can be approved prior to release to you. This process does often take some time, even with a narrow search request, because the response time depends on how many documents we have to review and process through the various DOE offices.
Best Regards,
