Dear Mr. Teel,

We had originally assigned your request to the Federal Student Aid office for processing. They have informed us that your request should be processed by our Office of General Counsel. On January 23, we reassigned your request to that office for processing.

If you would like to provide any information that would assist us in our search, please reply to this email with any information that may be helpful and will forward that information to the program office.

Please accept our apology for the delay in processing your request.

Dear Elise,

I'm not sure what additional information would be helpful. Is there some confusion over the records being requested?

Sincerely,

Robert Teel

Dear Mr. Teel,

When I emailed you last, I stated that we did not need any additional information. At that time, I should have been asking if you could narrow the scope of your request.

You listed a timeframe of January 1, 2008 to the present. Did you mean for that to be your timeframe? Also, I would like to suggest that maybe you should narrow the types of documents that you are seeking.

I deeply apologize for the delay and confusion in this matter.

Please reply to this email with your response.

Hello Elise,

We can revise the dates from January 1, 2008 to the present to January 1, 2015 to the present. Could you give me an indication of how voluminous the records are and I will consider how to pare back the scope of the documents, if possible.

Thanks for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Robert Teel

Hello Mr. Teel,

It's imperative that we speak to you about the scope of your request before we can move forward with its processing. Please provide a phone number or another email address if it's more efficient to contact you in that manner rather than the MuckRock account.

If we don't receive a response from you by COB, Friday, July 21, 2017, it will be interpreted as that you are no longer interested in the Department fulfilling your request, resulting in its administrative closure.

Sincerely,

Good afternoon Mr. Teel,

Thank you for taking the time earlier today to speak with me and Dan Zibel about your request. This email serves to confirm our conversation earlier today, in which you narrowed the scope of your FOIA request 17-00280-F to the following:

You are seeking the settlement agreement reached by and between the Department of Education and DeVry Education Group, Inc., and/or DeVry University, Inc., and its affiliates ("DeVry"), and the litigation pleadings from the administrative litigation in the proceeding that concluded with the settlement agreement.

Please confirm whether this accurately reflects our conversation.
Thanks,
Bobby

Thank you Bobby. Just to clarify, the litigation pleadings will include everything filed in the litigation before the Office of Hearings and Appeals, including exhibits (other than those items protected by a confidentiality or protective order).

Sincerely,
Robert Teel

From: Wehausen, Robert

That is correct.

From: Robert Teel

Hello Robert,

I am checking on my FOIA request per our agreement limiting the scope. Could you give me a status update?

Thank you.

Sincerely,
Robert Teel
