To Whom It May Concern:

This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:

I am interested in obtaining copies of any and all documents (internal reports, emails, etc.) from NASA's Washington, DC, headquarters and the Marshall Space Flight Center related to a fire-resistant plastic called "Starlite," which was invented by British citizen Maurice Ward and tested by aerospace companies including Boeing. Documents specifically related to or authored by Rudy Naranjo (Washington, DC) and Raymond Clinton (Marshall Space Flight Center) are of the highest priority.

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Michael Anthony Greshko

Dear Josephine:

Thank you very much for your prompt response to my FOIA request. I apologize for the vagueness of my initial inquiry; I will try to give further details.
I am interested in emails or memos written or received by Rosendo "Rudy" Naranjo--an aerospace engineer who worked at NASA's Washington, DC, headquarters until 2001--regarding the fire-resistant material "Starlite." I am interested in records produced between 1993 and 2001. If this broadened timescale is insufficiently specific, I would like to focus on material produced between 1997 and 2001.
This is the extent to which I can be specific, based on the scant documentation I currently possess.
Thank you for your time and work thus far in processing my request.
Sincerely,

Michael Greshko
