Good morning,

Your FOIA request has been received in the office for processing and assigned the case number shown in the subject line of this message.

Our office has received a high volume of requests which has resulted in a very large backlog of over one thousand cases. It is the TSA’s practice to assign requests to one of two tracks based on the complexity of the request and to process cases within the two tracks on a court-sanctioned first-in, first-out basis. Your request has been assigned to the simple track. At this time we anticipate an additional six months to complete the processing of your request, due to the backlog and typical processing time of similar requests.

This e-mail contains all of the information we are able to communicate to you at this time in the process. If you would like to contact us in future for additional updates, you may do so by the following methods:

• Fax: 1 (571) 227-1406
• Telephone: 1 (866) 364-2872
