Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

-records of any communications between Attorney General William Barr and others in the executive branch in which Mr. Barr discusses the possible formation of an inquiry into the origins of the Federal Bureau of Investigation's (FBI) investigation into ties between the Russian government and Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign. In other words, records of any communications between Mr. Barr and others in the executive branch in which Mr. Barr gives his rationale for opening an inquiry into the origins of the FBI's 2016 Russia investigation.

I am seeking records between February 14, 2019 (the date Mr. Barr was inaugurated for his current term as attorney general) and January 4, 2020, inclusive of those dates.

If possible, I request a transcript of the aforementioned communications, as well as any metadata associated with the communications.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
