To Whom It May Concern:

This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:

All emails and memos analyzing or relating to the Compliance with Court Orders Act of 2016 introduced by Sens. Richard Burr and Dianne Feinstein, which was shared with the Obama administration before its introduction. Date range: April 1, 2016 through the date of the search for records.

I request a fee waiver as a member of the news media. These records will be used to produce news reporting that is vital to informing readers about a matter of broad public interest. Selected examples of my work can be found here: http://muckrack.com/ericgeller/portfolio and my complete list of stories for my news organization can be found here: http://www.dailydot.com/authors/eric-geller/.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Eric Geller

Hello,

Pursuant to DHS's April 27 letter, I hereby modify my request as follows:

"All emails and memos analyzing or relating to the Compliance with Court Orders Act of 2016 introduced by Sens. Richard Burr and Dianne Feinstein, which was shared with the Obama administration before its introduction. DHS S&T offices to include: Under Secretary, Associate General Counsel, Chief of Staff, and HSARPA's Cyber Security Division. Date range: April 1, 2016 through the date of the search for records."

Please inform me if this request is still not narrow enough.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Eric Geller

Dear Mr. Geller:

Thank you for your follow e-mail up to DHS' April 27 letter. In this request you identified specific S&T job titles to include: Under Secretary, Associate General Counsel and Chief of Staff. Please provide the name of the specific job title or individual(s) for the Cyber Security Division as the request to search the e-mail of all the employees is not reasonably described and would be an undue burden.

Thank you,
