To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

I would like detailed reporting information for NHTSA Recall No 16V-097 ("Steering Shaft May Disconnect from Junction Box"), Volvo Trucks North America Recall Nos RVXX1602 and RVXX1603. Specifically, I am interested in quarterly reporting information for report number 1 and 2, for submission periods June 30 2016 and October 6 2016, which details specific vehicles by VIN repaired by date, location and any other information.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Thomas Johnsberg

Did you also send something to NHTSA?

From: Ian White

The same request was also supposed to be sent to NHTSA but I haven't received acknowledgement. Should I cancel one? Wasn't sure which agency is responsible and don't want to unnecessarily burden staff.

From: Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration

Please start with NHTSA and then go from there; it's likely a NHTSA issue not FMCSA.

Thank you

From: Ian White

Ok, thank you. I formally withdraw this request and first pursue with NHTSA.
