Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
Any internal guidance, memos, or other documents issued by the Department of Commerce and/or the Census Bureau that relate to public relations or communications concerning the inclusion of a citizenship question in the 2020 census. This request also seeks any guidance, memos or other documents that relate to a communications or PR strategy concerning the Supreme Court's June 2019 decision to block the so-called citizenship question from inclusion in the 2020 census. This request seeks records produced since May 1, 2019.
I am a reporter with The Guardian.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
