This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records: any and all processing notes, case files, records, or communications related to the Freedom of Information request I filed on 8-30-2016, regarding Kratom, Case Number 16-00895-F.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

The DEA response to this request isn't even remotely what was asked for, which was processing notes. What I received was zero processing notes, and instead, a copy of a letter that had already been sent. I ask again, under the Freedom of Information Act, for any and all processing notes, case files, records, or communications related to the Freedom of Information request I filed on 8-30-2016, regarding Kratom, Case Number 16-00895-F.

I am sorry but DEA has use exemptions to explain why you can not get the information.
Kraton is an active, predecisional situation. DEA is not going to release anything until DEA and other agencies have made a final decision.
