This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:
All completed non-draft privacy impact assessments prepared by the DEA regarding the National License Plate reader initiative.
I have previously requested this exact category of document (FOIA request No. 15-00312-F) but was told that there were no responsive documents. I filed a new request (16-00300-F) for the processing notes for FOIA request No. 15-00312-F and was given an internal DEA memo dated April 20, 2015 (page 34 of 45 of the documents released to me as part of request 16-00300-F) that acknowledged the existence of a relevant PIA regarding the National License Plate reader initiative that was still in draft form and not yet releasable.
I am refiling this request to determine whether or not that specific PIA mentioned in the processing notes for request 15-00312-F is completed and releasable.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.
