FOIA REQUEST
Expedited processing requested
Dear FOIA Officer:
Pursuant to the federal Freedom of Information Act, 5 U.S.C. 552, I request access to and copies of any and all correspondence, documents, emails, files, letters, memos, tapes, cds, audio, video, electronic, and/or other records detailing the extent and nature of alleged FBI surveillance, monitoring, and investigation of "Dakota Access Pipeline", "Bakken Oil Pipeline" "Camp of the Sacred Stones," "Red Warrior Camp", "Bold Iowa", "Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement", "Bakken Pipeline Resistance Coalition", "Catholic Worker", "Pilot Mound, Iowa", "Des Moines River", "Mississippi River", "Sandusky, Iowa", "Montrose, Iowa", "Unicorn Riot," "Indigenous Environmental Network", etc.
I also ask that all searches for this FOIA request include main, cross-indexed, and see files at your regional offices in North Dakota, Nebraska, and Iowa.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Please provide expedited processing of this request which concerns a matter of urgency. As a journalist, I am primarily engaged in disseminating information. The public has an urgent need for information about FBI surveillance and monitoring of nonviolent resistance to the Dakota Access pipeline because there is an urgent need for the public to address serious allegations of governmental wrongdoing in a timely manner and because there is an impending presidential election in November 2016 to which informed members of the public might contribute through lobbying or other contacts with public officials and in these instances delay would simply rob the public of its ability to make known its views in a timely manner.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.
Sincerely,
David Goodner
