This message is to notify you of a new appeal submission to the FOIAonline application. Appeal information is as follows:
* Appeal Tracking Number: DODOIG-APPEAL-2019-000920
* Request Tracking Number: DODOIG-2019-000886
* Requester Name: Julia Rock
* Date Submitted: 07/24/2019
* Appeal Status: Submitted
* Description: Hello Eric:
I have received your interim response. My original request is reasonably described under the first type of descriptive information "The request must contain file-related information, such as, the type of record sought, the title, index citation, subject area, date the record was created, and the identity of the originator of the record. "
The type of record sought, as I explained in my original request, are communications and memos. To further clarify, communications include emails and letters circulated within the DOD and with other agencies, offices, politicians, companies, and individuals.
The subject area for the first set of memos and communications are “A Federal Strategy to Ensure Secure and Reliable Supplies of Critical Minerals.” This is a specific document released by the executive branch. The subject area for the second are three different key strings. I will focus the second part of my request, "All communications and memos dated between January 1 2019 and today, containing the non case-sensitive phrases “critical minerals” AND “climate change” OR “renewable energy,”" to only emails ending in @dodig.mil so that the emails can be searched for these key words.
I have specified date ranges for the creation of these records.
I have also included "event-related information" for the first part of the request, which was the publication of “A Federal Strategy to Ensure Secure and Reliable Supplies of Critical Minerals.” Here is the press release from the USGS about that strategy: https://www.usgs.gov/news/trump-administration-announces-strategy-strengthen-americas-economy-defense
