To Whom It May Concern:

This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:

Copies of all FOIA requests the CIA received from Bernard Fensterwald Jr., who passed away in 1991. Here is a link to his obituary in The New York Times: http://www.nytimes.com/1991/04/04/obituaries/bernard-fensterwald-69-lawyer-for-james-ray-and-watergate-spy.html

I also request copies of all processing notes associated with the FOIA requests that Fensterwald submitted to the CIA.

Fensterwald was a former government lawyer who later defended James Earl Ray and James McCord Jr.

Fensterwald was also involved in researching the assassinations of President Kennedy, Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

John Kirsch
