This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:
A copy of the CIA's comprehensive damage assessment of espionage in the 1980s. The damage report is mentioned in a memo from Rodney B. McDaniel to the CIA's executive secretary dated March 19, 1986. That memo may be found here: https://www.cia.gov/library/readingroom/document/cia-rdp90b01390r000300360015-2
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

From: Jacob Silverman
I would like to appeal the glomar decision on my request. As I stated in my initial request, the document I asked for already exists and its existence has been confirmed in CIA materials that have been declassified and released to the public through the CREST platform. Please see, for example, this document which was declassified four years ago: https://www.cia.gov/library/readingroom/document/cia-rdp90b01390r000300360015-2
Or this one, which was declassified in 2008: https://www.cia.gov/library/readingroom/document/cia-rdp85m00363r000601440007-4
I look forward to your swift resolution of my appeal. Thank you for your consideration.
