To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

-- On Sept. 11, 2019, Liberty University President Jerry L. Falwell Jr. told CNN that he has contacted the FBI about an alleged "criminal conspiracy" involving the leak of internal Liberty University emails to Politico Magazine reporter Brandon Ambrosino. (Source: https://www.cnn.com/2019/09/11/us/falwell-liberty-university-conspiracy/index.html)

I request any and all communications between Jerry L. Falwell Jr. (434-582-2000, jfalwell@liberty.edu), Liberty University General Counsel David M. Corry (dcorry@liberty.edu, 434-592-7200), or other Liberty University employees and the FBI that relate or refer to Brandon Ambrosino or Politico from 9/8/2019 to 9/11/2019.

I believe these records are maintained by FBI headquarters in Washington, D.C., or by the FBI field office in Richmond, Virginia. Liberty University is located in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Please perform a search of the Central Records System (CRS) and the Electronic Surveillance (ELSUR) Indices for both main-file and cross-referenced records. Please include both investigative and non-investigative records in your search.

I am a full-time, professional journalist. My work has appeared in The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, The Christian Science Monitor, Al Jazeera America, PRI's The World, and ThinkProgress. I am requesting these records as part of the news-gathering process, not for commercial purposes.

If you charge fees, please inform me of the total charges before fulfilling my request.

Please provide these records by email attachment, if available, or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter.

I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,
Joshua Eaton
