Good Afternoon Mr. Sewell,

This email acknowledges receipt of your Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request dated November 19, 2018, which was received in the Office of General Counsel (OGC) on November 21, 2018. You requested:

Communications and documents exchanged between the USDA's Stephen A. Vaden and the CEQ's Christopher Prandoni. Please limit this request to the following dates:

1. Aug 15, 2017 - Oct 31, 2017;

2. Apr 15, 2018 - Jun 31, 2018.

Please included communications in the form of assigned email, text messages, call logs, intra-governmental communications mediums.

We have initiated a search for records responsive to your request. If any responsive records are located, they will be reviewed for determination of releasability.

The FOIA regulation 5 U.S.C. § 552(a)(6)(A)(i) requires OGC to make a determination in response to a FOIA request within 20 business days from its date of receipt. In unusual circumstances, the Federal agency time limit may be extended by 10 business days as stated in 5 U.S.C. § 552(a)(6)(B). Your request seeks numerous records that necessitate consultations with components that have a substantial interest in the determination of this request. OGC will invoke a 10 business day extension for determination of your request. You have the option to narrow the scope of your request to limit the number of potentially responsive records.

Your request has been assigned FOIA Case No. 2019-OGC-01077-F. Please refer to this case number in any future correspondence. We are diligently working to respond your request as expeditiously as possible. We appreciate your patience as we proceed with your request. If you have any questions regarding the processing of this request, please me at 202-239-4522 or electronically at foiaofficerogc@ogc.usda.gov<mailto:foiaofficerogc@ogc.usda.gov>.

Please be advised you may seek the assistance of OGC’s FOIA Public Liaison, Ms. Karen M. Carrington at any time during the processing of your FOIA request. Ms. Carrington can be reached at (202) 720-0944<tel:(202)%20720-0944> or via email at Karen.Carrington@ogc.usda.gov<mailto:Karen.Carrington@ogc.usda.gov>.
