From: Rich Jones

This is an appeal to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Request #ES16-005508, which resulted in the response, "We have conducted a search based on the information you have provided and have not located any records responsive to your request."

I am appealing this request on the grounds that some of the responsive documents have already been made public through other channels, such as the document host Scribd: https://www.scribd.com/document/329218929/2016-10-27-Special-Order-Directed-to-Comma-ai#from_embed and the popular technology media: https://techcrunch.com/2016/10/28/comma-ai-cancels-the-comma-one-following-nhtsa-letter/ - thereby proving that these documents do in fact exist, even if they were not found during the original search.

I am interested in the original copies of this letter, and any related memos, letters, emails, PowerPoint presentations, faxes, media recordings, press releases, and internal communications which led to the creation of this letter.

If this email is not received by 'nhtsa.foia.appeal@dot.gov', please ensure that the NHTSA FOIA Appeals office receives a copy of this address.

Thank you!,
Rich Jones
