From: OPM FOIA Team
OMB FOIA Service Center:
Please see attached FOIA request, mailed to the U.S. Office of
Personnel Management (OPM), April 9, 2013, from Mr. Michael Morisy,
MuckRock News, Boston, Massachusetts.
The request is for records on Civil Service Retirement System
underfunding. While OPM does administer the annuity roll and
retirement laws and regulations as they pertain to eligibility and
calculation of retirement benefits, OPM doesn’t administer the fund.
We are, therefore, re-directing Mr. Morisy’s request to you for review
and direct response.
Thank you.

Dear Mr. Morisey,
This is to follow-up with your FOIA request dated April 9, 2013, in which you sought records on the Civil Service Retirement System underfunding. On April 18, 2013, the Office of Personnel Management sent you an email stating that we did not have responsive records pertaining to this request. It was also suggested that OMB would most likely be the agency that had the responsive records. Your request was forwarded to OMB as a referral for action. Today, I received a telephone call from the OMB FOIA office asking that you submit your request directly to them as it is against their policy to accept referrals a federal agency.
Please submit your request to their FOIA office directly for a response to your request.
