Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:
A copy of your agency's files on Christopher Bird, born 5/11/1928, a former officer of the Central Intelligence Agency.
Christopher Bird died in May 1996, according to the New York Times. https://www.nytimes.com/1996/05/06/arts/christopher-bird-68-a-best-selling-author.html
Under Executive Order 13526 (https://www.archives.gov/isoo/policy-documents/cnsi-eo.html) signed by President Barack Obama in December 2009, and still in effect, classified documents 50 years or older, must be declassified unless they include the names of confidential intelligence sources or information on weapons of mass destruction technology.
As a 35 year veteran of Washington journalism and Washington correspondent for AlterNet.org, I request a fee waiver. The documents I seek concerns U.S. government operations and activities. Their disclosure is likely to contribute to understanding of these operations or activities. Specifically, disclosure will likely result in public understanding of CIA in the 1950 and 1960s
