To Whom It May Concern:
This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:
All documents relating to NHTSA evaluations, including memos and reports, of devices meant to prevent the deaths of unattended children in vehicles between 2007 - 2012.
I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.
In the event that fees cannot be waived, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.
To Whom It May Concern:
I wanted to follow up on the following Freedom of Information request, copied below, and originally submitted on Sept. 25, 2012. Please let me know when I can expect to receive a response, or if further clarification is needed.
Thank you for your help.
This is regarding your September 20, 2012 FOIA request, submitted to the Department of Transportation (DOT). Your request was forwarded to NHTSA, an operating mode of DOT for handling on September 27, 2012. I have attached a copy of our October 26, 2012 letter to you, extending our response due date 10 business days. You should receive a response to your request by November 9, 2012. If you have any further questions, please contact me directly.
I just sent payment for this. I apologize for not seeing the fee notice sooner.
Good Afternoon Mr. Nash-
You file was closed in our FOIA tracking system on December 18, 2012 for non-response. Your email states that you just sent in payment. We never sent you an invoice, so I am not sure where your payment was sent. Can you please let me know, so I can process your request.
Hello Mr. Nash-
I have not heard back from you in reference to my email below. If I do not receive a response from you in a couple days, I will assume you are no longer interested in us reopening your request and will take no action. Also, I ask that you follow up with me in response to this through this email and not with Kathy Ray, in DOT's Office of the Secretary of Transportation (OST).
