This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:
Any and all emails, memos, letters and/or reports sent or received by Special Agent in Charge Nick Chavez that contains one or more of the following words, names, or phrases: No More Deaths, NMD, The Barn, Cabeza Prieta and/or Scott Warren. This request pertains to records produced between March 1, 2017 and the date this request is processed.
I am a reporter for Pacific Standard magazine, and the requested documents will be made available to the general public. This request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

In reviewing your request it appears it relates to the Cabeza Prieta
Refugee in Arizona, and if that is the case the information you seek would
not fall under the FWS Office of Law Enforcement. It is not likely that the
Office of Law Enforcement would have any responsive records. It is my
belief that this FOIA request should remain with Region 2 (Refuge) for
review and/or action. You would probably have to amend your request ergo,
and remove the portion relating to searches being conducted by Special
Agent in Charge Nick Chavez. I will keep you posted as to whether we
transfer this request back to Region 2 (Refuge).

Thanks for the note. Just to clarify, the purpose of my request is to seek records in the possession of the Special Agent in Charge Nick Chavez. The portion about the Cabeza Prieta refuge is just one of the multiple key words in the request.
