To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

Persuant to the U.S. Freedom of Information Act (5 U.S.C. § 552), I would like to request one or more copies of privacy audits that the Customs and Border Protection requires selected airlines and air transportation authorities to complete. The audits assess how well industry partners are complying with GAO data security and privacy policies.

I am requesting both a blank audit form that would be sent to an air transportation authority or airline as well as a completed audit returned from an airline or transportation authority.

This article, at https://www.nextgov.com/analytics-data/2022/08/audits-cbps-facial-recognition-partners-vital-building-trust-lawmaker-says/375246/, describes the documents I am seeking.

I also request that, if appropriate, fees be waived as I believe this request is in the public interest. The requested documents will be made available to the general public free of charge as part of the public information service at MuckRock.com, processed by a representative of the news media/press and is made in the process of news gathering and not for commercial usage.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Jim Nash
