Ms. Farkus,

The search for records responsive to your request has been completed. The records now require review for a release determination. However, VA's FOIA implementing regulations require processing of requests made under the FOIA on a first-in-first-out bases. Currently, I have 52 complex requests received prior to yours in my processing queue. I am working on closing these requests as quickly as possible. Due to this significant backlog of requests being experienced in our office, I expect a significant delay in processing your request. An estimated time of completion for your request is 2 years. Note that this is an estimated timeframe that could result in a shorter or longer timeframe. I sincerely apologize for the delay in processing your request. Your patience is appreciated while I continue to work to reduce the backlog of requests and move your request up in the processing queue. Please feel free to contact me periodically for continued updates on the processing of your request.

If you have questions about your request, or if your need for records changes, allowing for us to tailor your request and assist in expediting processing, you may contact me at (315) 263-3653 or at angela.pluff@va.gov.
