Dear FOIA officer:
This is a Freedom of information Act request directed toward the Office of General Counsel, Department of Defense.

1) I request all Brady Notices [Brady v. Maryland, 373 U.S. 83 (1963)] pertaining to any Department of Defense criminal investigation laboratory worldwide from Fiscal Year 1963 through Fiscal Year 2017.
2) If evidence processed at a Department of Defense criminal investigation laboratory was used for prosecution in a non-U.S. court, military commission, provost court, or other tribunal where the U.S. Constitution did not necessarily apply, I request any notices made to such tribunals or their officers which served a purpose substantially similar to the purpose of a Brady Notice. If such notices were delivered in a language other than English, I furthermore request any English translations the government possesses.

This request is scoped to include Department of Defense organizations which may not have been officially titled as a "criminal investigation laboratory", but nonetheless engaged in the work of criminalistics to enable prosecutions in the United States or abroad. Alternative unit names include Military Police Laboratory, Military Police Detachment (Crime Lab), Expeditionary Forensic Laboratory (EFL), Joint Expeditionary Forensic Facility (JEFF), Forensic Exploitation Battalion (FEB), Joint Captured Materiel Exploitation Center (JCMEC), Combined Explosives Exploitation Cell (CEXC), Expeditionary Exploitation Unit (EXU), Foreign Materiel Acquisition (FMA) platoon, Joint Prosecution and Exploitation Center (JPEC), and Computer Forensics Laboratory (CFL) among others. Named units include Department of Defense Cyber Crime Center (DODCCC), Defense Forensic Science Center (DFSC), Defense Forensics and Biometrics Agency (DFBA), Biometrics Identity Management Agency (BIMA), Forensic Exploitation Directorate (FXD), Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technical Support Detachment (EOD TECH SUPP DET), Combined Joint Task Force 7 (CJTF-7), Joint Intelligence Task Force Counter-Terrorism Weapons Branch (JITF-CTWB), Task Force Paladin, and Task Force Troy among others.

This request is not being made for commercial purposes, and I am willing to pay fees of up to $25.00. I would prefer the request be filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not. Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter.

Sincerely,

T.J. Kenney
