Please ignore the error in the phrase "Department of Homeland Security". The apostrophe and "s" were unintentionally added. Thank you.

Mr. Anderson,

I would like to get some clarification from you regarding this request for "all emails between the DHS-OIG Boston Field Office and Boston Police Department, from August 2011 to present." As it is currently written, your request is very broad and may produce a voluminous amount of records and incur significant fees. In addition, without specific names of individuals or email addresses, it will be very difficult to conduct a search for this information. Please answer the following questions for me regarding your request, in order to clarify what information you are seeking and to possibly narrow your request.

1. Can you provide email addresses and/or names for the Boston Police Department employees that we can use to search for records?

2. Are you requesting emails for all employees in the Boston Field Office? Please note that this field office has both an Office of Audits and Office of Investigations. Are you seeking emails from both program offices? There are currently 17 employees in the Boston FO. Having everyone conduct a search will incur a large amount of search fees.

3. Also, please provide a topic and/or search terms that we can use to search for records.

Let me know if you have any questions or would like to discuss this.

Thank you
Kirsten

From: Evan Anderson

Hello,

Can I modify my request to include only emails between the Office of Investigations and the Boston Police Department from January 1, 2011 to present? If that is still too broad, then would I be able to further narrow it to emails that contain the word "occupy" in the subject line or body of the email?

I am not particularly familiar with Boston Police Department employees, so I am hesitant to provide names. If the request is still too broad, however, then I will find names to specify.

Thank you,

Evan
