Documents reflecting the budgetary contribution of NIFA to the Bee Informed Partnership from FY2010 thru FY2015.
Per the Bee Informed Partnership website (http://beeinformed.org/about/), this initiative is sponsored in part by the NIFA.
Given that this FOIA is submitted in my capacity as a journalist, I request that I be categorized as a media requester for the purpose of fees. Here is a selection of my published articles on MuckRock:

This is in response to your Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request dated May 14, 2015, for information reflecting the budgetary contributions of NIFA to the Bee Informed Partnership. Your request was received in this office on May 15 and assigned FOIA No. 2015-REE-03564-F.
Specifically, you requested:
Documents reflecting the budgetary contribution of NIFA to the Bee Informed Partnership from FY2010 thru FY2015.
Per the Bee Informed Partnership website (http://beeinformed.org/about/), this initiative is sponsored in part by the NIFA.
The Bee Informed Partnership (BIP) is a single Agriculture and Food Research Initiative grant funded on a five year continuation basis through the FY 2010 Food Security challenge area program. The grant title is, BIP A NETWORK FOR MONITORING AND MAINTENANCE BEE HEALTH AND POLLINATION SERVICES. The following provides the budgetary contribution by the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) to BIP:
FY2010 - $1,020,000
FY2011 - $1,170,000
FY2012 - $1,170,000
FY2013 - $1,170,000
FY2014 - $1,170,000
Total – $5.7M

This is in further response to your Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request dated May 14, 2015, for information reflecting the budgetary contributions of the National Institute of Food and Agriculture to the Bee Informed Partnership (BIP). Your request was received in this office on May 15 and assigned FOIA No. 2015-REE-03564-F.
Per your June 16, 2015, email, you are requesting the budget pages from Grant No. 2011-67007-20017, BIP, a Network for Monitoring and Maintaining Bee Health and Pollination Services, University of Maryland.
As requested, attached are the budget pages from Grant No. 2011-67007-20017. A total of 10 pages are being released to you in full; 6 pages have been redacted. The salary and fringe benefit information has been redacted from the enclosed documents and is exempt from disclosure pursuant to 5 U.S.C. 552(b)(6), which protects information about individuals in personnel and medical files and similar files when the disclosure of such information would constitute a clearly unwarranted invasion of personal privacy. This information is also exempt from disclosure pursuant to 5 U.S.C. 552(b)(4), which protects trade secrets and commercial or financial information obtained from a person that is privileged and confidential.
You have a right to appeal our determination by writing to the Director, NIFA, USDA, Room 305-A, Jamie L. Whitten Federal Building, 14th & Independence Avenue, SW, Washington, DC 20250. The appeal must be received by that office within 45 days of the date of this letter. The phrase “FOIA Appeal” should be placed in capital letters on the front of the envelope containing the appeal.
