To Whom It May Concern:

Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, I hereby request the following records:

On June 8, 1980, the 13th anniversary of the Israeli attack on the USS Liberty, USS Liberty survivor Clyde Way was interviewed by NSA personnel. I have attached a copy of the transcript of that interview.

In that interview Mr. Way referenced an audio tape that was retrieved after the attack and delivered to the NSA. I have highlighted the portion of the interview to which I am referring.

We request a copy of the audio tape referenced in the interview and any other audio tape provided to the NSA from the USS Liberty after the attack.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I look forward to receiving your response to this request within 20 business days, as the statute requires.

Sincerely,

Joe Meadors
