The FBI's FOIPA Program is searching the FBI's indices for potentially responsive documents.

NOTE: Recent requests are entered into the FOIPA database in the order that they are received. Before you can check the status, you must have received correspondence assigning a FOIPA request number and the information transferred to the online database. Status information is updated weekly. Estimated Dates of Completion
Requests are processed in the order in which they are received through our multi-track processing system. Requests are divided into two primary tracks--simple (under 50 pages of potentially responsive documents) and complex (over 50 pages of potentially responsive documents). Complex requests are further divided into medium, large, and extra-large sub-tracks based upon request size. Simple track requests typically require the least amount of time to process. Currently, simple track cases average approximately 134 days from the date of receipt for processing. Our complex requests in the medium processing track are currently averaging 523 days, large processing track are currently averaging approximately 1,335 days, and extra-large processing track are currently averaging 1,875 days for processing.

As you did not come close to responding in the time period required by statute and the responsive records are below 5,000 pages, you are NOT entitled to levy fees and your attempt to do so is improper at best.

I am appealing the Bureau's decision to process only 100 pages and not the full 1,359 pages, in direct contradiction to my instruction on 5/22/2019 (https://www.muckrock.com/foi/united-states-of-america-10/armed-forces-communications-and-electronics-association-60146/#comm-727137).
Regardless of a fee waiver being denied, the amount of pages was less than 5,000 and thus the Bureau was prohibited from charging duplication fees. The Bureau made no attempts to negotiate (all communications are recorded on https://www.muckrock.com/foi/united-states-of-america-10/armed-forces-communications-and-electronics-association-60146/) and took nearly five years to respond to the request. The Bureau took a full six months to even ask for fees, at which point they were already prohibited from doing so.
