Afghan opium and heroin / most lethal ever illicit drug epidemic in USA (i.e. the current heroin epidemic)

This is a request under the Freedom of Information Act. I hereby request the following records:

Any and all data the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) has regarding Afghanistan, and/or opium, and/or heroin , and/or opiate/s, and/or opioid/s from 2000 to present plus any and all data (documentation, memorandum/s of understanding, agreement/s, interaction/s, etc.) with/regarding the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and/or illicit drugs.

Since the War In Afghanistan began in 2001, Afghan opium increased from 7,600 hectares in 2001 to 224,000 hectares in 2014 (UNODC data) as US heroin deaths increased from 1,779 in 2001 to 10,574 heroin deaths in the USA in 2014 (CDC data), what (if anything) has the DEA being doing as heroin has flooded into the USA, now killing over 10,000 Americans a year, I am requesting any and all documentation regarding any and all data about opioid/s and/or opiate/s and/or opium and/or heroin and/or Afghanistan that the DEA has from 2000 to April 2016 (i.e. now).

Some former DEA Agents (e.g. Levine, Folis) have stated publicly that when they encountered CIA personnel trafficking narcotics they were ordered to cease investigations, some researchers (e.g. Professor McCoy, Professor Peter Dale Scott) have stated that the CIA is involved in trafficking narcotics; any and all documentation that the DEA has regarding the CIA and/or opiate/s and/or opioid/s, and/or opium and/or heroin, and/or Afghanistan as well as DEA data on any agreement/s memorandum/s of understanding, deal/s, interaction/s with CIA operative/s (e.g. agent/s, officer/s, contractor/s, Director/s, Assistant Director/s, political appointee/s, etc.), 1979 to April 2016 (i.e. now) is hereby requested.

An American is now being killed every 32 minutes by heroin, time is of the essence, due to the compelling imperative circumstances of this current heroin epidemic being the most lethal ever drug epidemic in the history of the USA, I am additionally requested that the DEA cooperate in expediting this FOIA request. Every 32 minutes delayed is another American dead from heroin. DEA is the agency with primary responsibility for enforcing laws regarding this illegal substance, heroin. DEA is also the agency with primary responsibility for tens of thousands of Americans killed, so far, this century by heroin. Any and all data the DEA has responsive to the word/s heroin and/or opium and/or opiate/s and/or opioid/s from 2000 to April 2016 (i.e. now) is requested to ascertain what (if anything) the DEA has been doing as the current most lethal ever illicit drug epidemic in US history has grown to the epic proportions it has grown to.

DEA has publicly claimed only 4% of heroin in the USA is from Afghanistan, that most heroin in the USA is from Mexico, but Mexico only produced enough opium to make 16.2 tons of heroin (2014) which mathematically is not enough heroin for even 1/10th of the mushrooming heroin demand in the USA, I am requesting any and all data (e.g. covert illicit drug buying data, lab data, lab protocols for analysis, independent third party review/s (if any) of DEA data, etc.) regarding how DEA has ascertained country of origin of heroin, from 2000 to April 2016 (i.e. now) to have led (or misled) DEA officials to publicly declare such a mathematical impossibility, such a physical impossibility (i.e. the DEA claim that most heroin in the US is from Mexico).

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police stated 90% of heroin in Canada is from Afghanistan, I am requesting any and all data the DEA has responsive to the word Canada and/or Canadian/s plus heroin and/or opium and/or opioid/s and/or opiate/s, documents which document what (if anything) DEA has done, 2000 to April 2016 (i.e. now) regarding heroin coming in from Canada.

The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.

In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.

There is an epidemic of Afghan heroin that is killing over 10,000 Americans a year. I have been specific in requesting DEA records from DEA Headquarters and any DEA offices in Afghanistan regarding what if anything the DEA has been doing 2000 to present regarding this epidemic that is now killing over 10,000 Americans a year. Records responsive to search terms heroin opium opiates opioids Afghanistan and or Afghan. The request is specific and easily searchable at the above mentioned offices. The DEA knows the records, the DEA can readily identify and forward the records.
