From: Samuel Sinyangwe
To Whom It May Concern:
Pursuant to the Ohio Open Records Law, I hereby request the following records:
The total number of Toledo police shootings that either hit or missed a civilian for each year from 2010-2017. Specifically, I’m requesting the total number for each year separately, not as one aggregate total for the entire time period.
The requested documents will be made available to the general public, and this request is not being made for commercial purposes.
In the event that there are fees, I would be grateful if you would inform me of the total charges in advance of fulfilling my request. I would prefer the request filled electronically, by e-mail attachment if available or CD-ROM if not.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation in this matter. I would request your response within ten (10) business days.
Sincerely,
Samuel Sinyangwe

Samuel Sinyangwe,
We do not have a code to search for "Officer Involved Shootings" in our system, nor do we have a way to search for specific narrative information, such as who was hit or missed. Our tracked shooting incidents do not contain police shootings, unless the officer was the one that was shot at. Unfortunately, we will not be able to provide data for this request.
